On July 24, 2021, at approximately 11:57 PM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division received a phone call from the Manitou Springs Police Department requesting assistance in conducting a death investigation at a hotel located in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue.

In accordance with Colorado law, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has been notified that William Nichols Stewart will be moving into the community and is registered at 40250 Hoot Owl Road, Ramah, CO 80832, located in the jurisdiction of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to participate in its upcoming survey. The survey is designed to provide a baseline of resident satisfaction with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office services and to make comparisons with communities across the nation.

On July 24, 2021, at approximately 6:49 AM, our Communications Center dispatched deputies to the Stratmoor Valley Park and Trailhead, on a report of a body found.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies discovered a deceased adult male.

On July 28, 2021, at around 6:40 PM, the EPSO Communications Center received a report of a menacing with a gun that just occurred at the Rivon Gas & Convenience Store located at 4140 South Highway 85/87, in unincorporated El Paso County.  

The Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy will begin on Thursday, September 9, 2021. This Academy consists of one night per week classes culminating in a graduation on Wednesday November 10, 2021.

On July 26, 2021, at approximately 4:20 PM, our Communications Center received a call from a family member reporting, 82-year-old, Frances Vialpando as missing from the 13000 block of West Ravine Drive. Information gathered indicated Ms. Vialpando as a missing and endangered adult.

On July 24, 2021, at approximately 6:49 AM, our Communications Center dispatched deputies to the Stratmoor Valley Park and Trailhead, on a report of a body found.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies discovered a deceased adult male.

On July 22, 2021, at approximately 1700 hours, our Communications Center received a 911 call from a person stating a male was shooting a weapon from the sunroof of his vehicle in the area of Cornell Street and Widefield Boulevard. 

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is reducing costs associated with phone calls and video visitation services at the El Paso County Jail.

Previously, calls were charged at a rate of .44 cents per minute for local calls and .60 cents per minute for long distance (domestic).

On May 9, 2021, at approximately 12:49AM, a medical emergency was declared in a male housing ward at the El Paso County Jail. 

On July 2, 2021, at approximately 1122 hours, our Communications center received a phone call from a woman reporting her 38-year-old stepson missing. She was calling from Texas.

On July 11, 2021, at approximately 1:06 PM, the El Paso County Communications center was contacted by the Colorado Springs Police Department in reference to a shooting that occurred in the area of South Academy Boulevard and Interstate 25 (I-25).

On July 6, 2021, at approximately 12:03 PM, our Communications Center dispatched Manitou Springs Police Department officers to the 400 block of Manitou Avenue on a report of a shot being fired.

On June 28, 2021, at approximately 7:21 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center dispatched deputies to a Check the Welfare call in the 11000 block of Rodez Grove.

Upon arrival, deputies found two deceased individuals.

On June 30, 2021, at around 1:26 PM, members of the Sheriff's Office Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) were in the Stratmoor Valley neighborhood in unincorporated El Paso County conducting surveillance in regard to an investigation into thefts from area construction sites.  A vehicle associated

On June 28, 2021, at approximately 7:21 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched deputies to a Check the Welfare call in the 11000 block of Rodez Grove. Upon arrival, deputies found two deceased individuals.

On Friday, June 18, 2021, at approximately 1:56 PM, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a bomb threat in the 9800 block of Rubicon Drive. 

On June 17, 2021, at approximately 4:12 PM, a deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office located a wanted suspect in the 900 block of Widefield Drive located in Unincorporated El Paso County.

On June 10, 2021, at approximately 6:23 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 3400 block of West Colorado Avenue, in unincorporated El Paso County, in reference to a shooting.

Clarification on the Rescission of the Fireworks Ban for Unincorporated El Paso County

Effective immediately, the fireworks ban has been rescinded for unincorporated El Paso County.

On Monday, January 6, 2020 at approximately 2:20 AM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a call regarding an unresponsive female in a room at the Travel Lodge in the 6800 block of Space Village Avenue.

On May 17, 2021, at approximately 2:31 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a report of a structure fire in the 500 block of Cypress Drive located in Security, Colorado. Deputies and the Security Fire Department responded, but the home was a total loss.

On January 23, 2021, at approximately 1:23 PM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive newborn.  The reporting party stated the newborn was lying partially buried in her yard. 

On Monday, May 24, 2021, at approximately 3:30 PM, Fountain Police Department (FPD) officers and a deputy from the El Paso County Sherriff’s Office (EPSO), came in contact with an armed individual at the Willow Springs Ponds in Fountain, Colorado 80817.

Even with the recent moisture received, according to the drought monitor, all of El Paso County remains in either the moderate drought or abnormally dry categories.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies discovered a deceased adult male on the property.
