Information on Funeral and Procession for Deputy Andrew Peery
On Monday, August 15, 2022, starting at 11:00 a.m., a law enforcement funeral service with full honors will commence to honor the life and mourn the Line of Duty Death of El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Peery at New Life Church located at 11025 Voyager Parkway in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This service will be open to the public.
Following the service, an emergency vehicle procession will depart from the church. The route is attached to this media release. The public is invited to line the procession route and join us in honoring Deputy Peery.
The designated parking lot for emergency vehicles participating in the procession will open at 7 a.m. Law enforcement, fire department, and EMS vehicles equipped with emergency lights and siren will be permitted to participate in the procession. Participants must be parked no later than 9 a.m. in order to be included.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., a convoy carrying Deputy Peery and his family will arrive at the church. All attending uniformed personnel are asked to form up outside the main church entrance to greet their arrival no later than 9:30 a.m. and remain in formation until Deputy Peery and the family are escorted inside by the EPSO Mounted Unit and combined Honor Guard. An EPSO designee will organize this formation. Once Deputy Peery and his family are inside the church, sanctuary seating will commence for all attendees.
Separate parking areas for all others attending the service are also designated. A map of the church property distinguishing procession from general public parking is also attached. This event is anticipated to draw thousands of attendees. As such, carpooling is highly suggested.
Media coverage of ceremonial events inside and outside the church will be from a designated pool camera only. Local NBC affiliate KOAA has been selected to fill this role. KOAA Chief Photographer Adam Knapic is their point of contact and can be reached at 719-228-6283. Still photography will be provided after the event by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Public Information Office.
New Life Church will additionally provide a live stream of the service. The URL for this live stream can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/4t26vfv3.
Sheriff Bill Elder and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office family would like to thank our public safety partners and the public for their support during this difficult time.
