Sheriff's Office Statement Regarding Previous Arrest and Charging of Alleged Club Q Shooter Anderson Aldrich

In the early morning hours of November 20, 2022, several El Paso County-area citizens were killed, and numerous others were injured, resulting from the tragic and senseless mass shooting at the Club Q nightclub in Colorado Springs.  Sheriff Bill Elder, and the almost 1,000 sworn members, professional staff, and volunteers of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, mourn with those victims, their friends and families, and our community. 

Stage I Fire Restrictions in Place for Unincorporated El Paso County

Due to the low precipitation we have received, the fairly consistent winds and warmer temperatures, coupled with the frequency of ongoing outdoor fire responses we and our partners in the county are responding to, Sheriff Bill Elder has ordered Stage I Fire Restrictions for all of the unincorporated areas of El Paso County. 

Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest in Recent Shots Fired Incident

On December 5, 2022, just before 8:40am, a motorist traveling along Highway 115 in unincorporated El Paso County reported to the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center a passerby in another vehicle fire multiple rounds from a firearm at him.  When deputies arrived on scene, they observed multiple bullet holes in the victim’s vehicle.  There were no injuries.  The suspect fled the scene prior to our deputies’ arrival.
 

Sheriff's Office Identifies Deceased in Recent Homicide

On November 12, 2022, at around 3:28 a.m., a 911 call was received by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center. The caller reported a domestic disturbance which led to a shooting. Deputies were dispatched to the 6100 Block of Pemmican Point located in the Hanover area of unincorporated El Paso County.

Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Stabbing; Deputy Assaulted

On November 21, 2022, just before 8:40PM, El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a reported stabbing at a home in the 1200 block of Forest Road, located in the Stratmoor Valley area of unincorporated El Paso County.  

Sheriff's Office Investigates In-Custody Death on Mount View Lane

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 4:41 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Communications Center received a 911 call from a caller at a separate location who stated an adult male was experiencing a mental health episode at a home located in the 200 block of Mount View Lane.
 

Sheriff's Office Recovers Stolen Vehicle, Rifle, and Vehicle Parts

On November 5, 2022, two El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies were patrolling in the 2100 Block of B Street behind businesses, located in unincorporated El Paso County. 

Recently, this area has been the location of a significant amount of recovered stolen vehicles, as well as a homicide.

On November 12, 2022, at around 3:28 a.m., a 911 call was received by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center. The caller reported a domestic disturbance which led to a shooting. Deputies were dispatched to the 6100 Block of Pemmican Point located within an unincorporated portion of Fountain, Colorado.

Sheriff’s Office Makes Multiple Arrests in Homicide Investigation

As was previously reported, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the homicide of Mr. Manuel Hernandez-Uribe, whose body was found in the 5200 block of Old Stage Road in unincorporated El Paso County on June 10, 2022.  As a result of this investigation, 4 suspects were identified.

UPDATE: Sheriff's Office Arrests Two with Old Stage Road Homicide

On May 24, 2022, El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 4600 block of Old Stage Road for a deceased person found by hikers in the area. Deputies arrived on scene and found a deceased man. 

Detectives conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Colorado Springs Metro Crime Lab. The death was determined to be suspicious. 

The El Paso County Coroner has identified the victim as 30 year-old, Jermaine Trevion Wilson.

On October 10, 2022, just before 2:00AM, El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the Stratmoor Hills Fire Department and numerous other fire agencies, responded to a large fire in a homeless camp near B Street in unincorporated El Paso County.  Several RVs and other motor vehicles were found to be engulfed in flames.  
 

Sheriff's Offices Makes Arrest After Threatening Note Found on School Grounds

On October 20, 2022, at around 1:00 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff's Office assigned School Resource Officer was notified of a threatening note found in a restroom at Palmer Ridge High School. This note referenced a bomb threat scheduled for the next day, October 21, 2022.

On October 10, 2022, just before 2:00AM, El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the Stratmoor Fire Department and numerous other fire agencies, responded to a large fire in a homeless camp near B Street in unincorporated El Paso County.  Several RVs and other motor vehicles were found to be engulfed in flames.  Numerous residents of this homeless camp identified to deputies a person they believed was responsible for setting the fire.  That person was not located at that time.

On October 4th, just after 9:30am, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Evans Elementary School located at 1675 Winnebago Road in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County after receiving a report of a student in possession of a firearm.  A handgun was discovered inside his backpack along with ammunition and a magazine.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Behavioral Health Administrations Jail Based Behavioral Services Program (JBBS), has launched a new pilot program to respond to incarcerated citizens experiencing emotional or behavioral distress.  

Sheriff’s Office Investigates Shooting in Calhan

On September 15, 2022, around 4:22 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call from a citizen reporting a shooting outside of a residence in the 9900 block of Calhan Highway. This is a rural residential area located in Calhan in unincorporated El Paso County.

A Calhan Police Department officer and EPSO deputies arrived on scene and discovered two adults indicating they were just shot at. They sustained no injuries.  

Sheriff's Office Identifies Victim and Suspect in Death Investigation Case in Black Forest

On August 15, 2022, at approximately 6:48 p.m., deputies responded to a residence within the 15000 block of Pole Pine Point, Black Forest, regarding a disturbance. The residence is within a large gated community called the Black Forest Reserve, an unincorporated community of El Paso County.

When deputies entered the residence, they found two adults deceased. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office detectives were called out to process the scene.  

Deputy Identified in Officer-Involved Shooting in the 500 Block of Ponderosa Drive

August 17, 2022 - 6:45pm

On August 7, 2022, at approximately 5:07 PM, a 911 call was transferred from Fort Carson to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) Communications Center. The caller reported a shooting in the 500 Block of Ponderosa Drive. This location is in Security-Widefield, which is an unincorporated community within El Paso County. There were additional 911 calls from citizens reporting hearing gunshots in the same area.

Sheriff's Office Arrests Suspect in Homicide Case

August 16, 2022 - 10:30pm

On August 15, 2022, Fountain Police Department officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of Squirrel Creek Road for a reported overdose. Officers arrived on scene and found a deceased adult female. 

Officers learned the address was within the jurisdiction of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and requested the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office detectives to arrive on scene. 

Information on Funeral and Procession for Deputy Andrew Peery

On Monday, August 15, 2022, starting at 11:00 a.m., a law enforcement funeral service with full honors will commence to honor the life and mourn the Line of Duty Death of El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Peery at New Life Church located at 11025 Voyager Parkway in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This service will be open to the public.
