Victim in Monument Shooting Identified

April 26, 2017 - 3:45pm

On Sunday, April 23, 2017, at approximately 6:15 PM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 19800 block of Alexandria Drive.

When deputies arrived on scene they found a deceased adult male.

The victim has been positively identified 35 year old Brian J. Mattyasovsky.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Brian’s family and friends.

Arrest Made in Monument Shooting

On Sunday, April 23, 2017, at approximately 6:15 PM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting.  When deputies arrived on scene they found a deceased adult male.

Deputies contacted the suspect who admitted he had shot his brother while they were practicing defensive techniques.

The victims name will be released, once the autopsy is complete.

Sheriff's Office Makes Two Arrests in Highway 24 Homicide

On Saturday, April 8th, 2017, at approximately 4:52 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 21800 block of East Highway 24 regarding a found body.
 
When deputies arrived on scene they located a deceased male. Detectives arrived on scene and, through the course of their investigation, the suspicious death was determined to be a homicide.
 
The victim was identified as 23 year old Lawrence D. Gloster II.
 

Sheriff's Office Looking for Possible Additional Victims in Sexual Assault Case

In early April, 2017, the Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit began an investigation on a Sexual Assault case.  The suspect in this case has been identified as Glenn Allan Lainfiesta DOB: 04/02/1973.

Lainfiesta has an outstanding warrant for Sexual Assault on a Child by one in a Position of Trust a class 4 Felony, Criminal Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault on a Child by one in a Position of Trust a class 5 Felony, and Unlawful Sexual Contact a class 1 Misdemeanor.

Juvenile Suspect in Motor Vehicle Theft Taken Into Custody

On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at approximately 4:00 AM Deputies responded to Avocet Loop and Tierra Drive in reference to Criminal Trespass Auto and Burglary calls.  Victims reported an unknown number of suspects had broken into vehicles and used garage door openers to gain entrance into both residences.  Garage door openers and five sets of vehicle keys were stolen. 

Highway 24 Homicide Victim Identified

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, at approximately 4:52 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 21800 block of East Highway 24 regarding a found body.  When deputies arrived on scene they located a deceased male. 

The victim has been identified at 23 year old Lawrence D. Gloster II.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the friend and family of Mr. Gloster.

Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputies to Participate in Mental Health Training

Members of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division will be participating in Mental Health First Aid Training, which is being provided by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).  This training will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, at the Office of the Sheriff, located at 27 E. Vermijo Avenue.

Suspicious Death Upgraded to Homicide

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, at approximately 4:52 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 21800 block of East Highway 24 regarding a found body.  When deputies arrived on scene they located a deceased male. 

Detectives arrived on scene and through the course of their investigation and processing the scene; the suspicious death has been upgraded to a homicide investigation. 

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Notification of Sexually Violent Predator

In accordance with Colorado law, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the community that Juan Carlos Sanchez has moved to an address in the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction.  Sanchez is a sex offender whose past behavior has led him to be labeled a “Sexually Violent Predator” (SVP) by the court.  Accordingly, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has made “community notification” as required by law and undertaken the following tasks, among others:

Sheriff's Office Looking for Assistance in Identifying Identity Theft Suspect

On Friday, 3/03/17 at approximately 9:03 AM and 1132 AM, there were two transactions made with a School District 3 debit card, both for exactly $70 at the Fountain Walmart located at 6310 South Highway 85/87. The suspect attempted to purchase Walmart gift cards using several different credit cards.

Wanted Suspect in Double Homicide Turns Himself In

On Saturday, April 1, 2017, at approximately 7:10 PM, Endo Velarde aka Sleepy, DOB: 07/03/98, turned himself in to the Criminal Justice Center.

He is being charged with Attempt to Influence a Public Official in the double murder of Derek Greer and Natalie Partida.  He was also booked in on an outstanding warrant unrelated to the homicides.

Sheriff's Office Arrests Ninth Suspect In Double Homicide

March 31, 2017 - 7:40pm

On Friday, March 31, 2017, members of the Sheriff's Office Crime Reduction Unit located Carlos Meza aka Tink along Fountain Creek's bank hiding under a log.  Meza was taken into custody without incident and will be booked into the Criminal Justice Center on the charge of Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender.  The charge stems from the investigation of the double murder of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer.   

Sheriff's Office Makes Eighth Arrest In Double Homicide

On March 31, 2017, Breeana Eloise Dahlbert DOB: 9/2/96, was taken into custody and will be booked into the Criminal Justice Center on the charge of Second Degree Kidnapping. 

The charges stem from the investigation of the double murder of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer.

Sheriff's Office Warns of New Phone Scam

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, and Friday, March 31,2017, the Sheriff's Office has received multiple reports of a caller identifying as himself as Lieutenant Brad Jordan with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.  The suspect informs the victims he has to serve them with legal papers, ie. summons or warrants, and they need to report to the Sheriff's Office at 27 E. Vermijo Avenue to receive these papers.

Sheriff's Office Makes Eight Arrests While Executing Search Warrant

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, multiple units and members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office conducted an operation in the 600 block of Yellowstone Road in Colorado Springs with regard to the double homicide of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer. 
 

Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Indecent Exposure Case

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Deputies took a report of an indecent exposure at a drive-thru coffee hut in Falcon.  The female victim related that a Hispanic male in a white pickup had driven through the drive up window several times throughout the afternoon on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, and was fondling himself.  When the suspect stopped at the window, the victim told him to leave.

Sheriff's Office Makes Seventh Arrest in Double Homicide

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Angelita Prado, DOB: 4/13/95 was taken in to custody and will be booked into the Criminal Justice Center on kidnapping charges related to investigation of the double murder of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer.

Sheriff's Office Asking for Community's Help in Locating Suspect in Double Homicide

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s assistance in locating Endo Velarde, DOB 7/3/99 AKA Sleepy.  Velarde is wanted on felony charges related to the double murder of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer. 

Velarde is a Hispanic male who is 5'8" and weighs approximately 135lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. 

Sheriff's Office Makes Sixth Arrest Related to Double Homicide

On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, Alander Jordon Wilson, DOB: 12/28/1973, was taken into custody and will be booked into the Criminal Justice Center on the charge of Attempt to Influence a Public Official.  This charge stems from the ongoing investigation of the double homicide of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s assistance in locating Carlos Daniel Meza, AKA Tink.  Meza is wanted on weapons charges related to the double murder of Natalie Partida and Derek Greer. 

Meza is a Hispanic male who is 5'9" and weighs approximately 142lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the assistance of the community in locating Diego Carlos Chacon AKA “Casper.”  He is a person of interest in the March 16, 2017, double homicide of Derek Greer and Natalie Partida and is sought for questioning. 


Mr. Chacon is 18 years of age, 5’09” tall, approximately 150lbs with dark hair and brown eyes.

Deputies arrived on scene and confirmed that a male and female were lying on the shoulder of the road deceased.
