This week, the El Paso Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit hosted a Level II Advanced Mounted Patrol Course at the Norris-Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.

On October 15, 2024, Kevin Rued was found guilty of 1st Degree Murder.  Yesterday, Rued was sentenced to Life in Prison without the possibility of Parole.

On October 14, 2024, at around 7:30 A.M., El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy Roberts was working a Colorado Department of Transportation High Visibility Traffic Grant near Constitution Avenue and Marksheffel Road in unincorporated El Paso County.

On October 7, 2024, at approximately 11:56 pm, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Communications Center received reports regarding a suicidal adult male at a residence in the 5100 block of Prairie Grass Lane in Colorado Springs. 

On October 10, 2024, at approximately 1:30 A.M., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting an active burglary in the 2000 Block of B Street.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in locating a suspect in an unlawful sexual contact and attempted kidnapping, which occurred October 9, 2024, at approximately 2:46 pm. 

On September 17, 2024, the Colorado Springs Police Department received an anonymous tip about a social media post threatening Falcon High School. The information was promptly forwarded to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer, who initiated an investigation.

Today, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal announced the release of the 2023 Variance Report, an annual update to his Strategic Plan. This year’s Variance Report supplements Sheriff Roybal’s law enforcement strategic plan, providing a report card on progress made thus far.

On October 7, 2024, at approximately 11:56 pm, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Communications Center received reports regarding a suicidal adult male at a residence in the 5100 block of Prairie Grass Lane in Colorado Springs. 

At approximately 9:22 pm, on October 7, 2024, a 54-year-old male (in custody) who was being treated for a terminal illness was found unresponsive in his (medical housing unit) cell.
