On September 11, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., during a routine welfare check at the El Paso County Jail, deputies found an adult male unresponsive in his cell.

Evidence found during a search of the cell suggests the person in custody had attempted to take his own life.   

At approximately 3:53 pm today, a call came into the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center, where the reporting party stated there was a deceased individual located in a field in Midway Estates, near the intersection of El Hambre View and Rancho Colorado Boulevard in unincorporate

Today, Sheriff Joseph Roybal announced changes to service fees for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Civil Unit beginning October 15, 2024.

On Tuesday September 3, 2024, at approximately 10:30 pm, Colorado Springs Police Officers (CSPD) located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart in the 3200 block of East Platte Avenue.

The victim of the Homicide on Walsen Road has been identified as 54-year-old Jian Chan, who was married to the suspect, Stephen Chan. We extend our deepest condolences to Jian Chan’s family and friends during this difficult time.

At approximately 6:55 A.M. today, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from a male party claiming to have killed his wife.

Beginning this week, school is back in session for most school districts in El Paso County.
