Apr 25, 2022 - 2:00pm

On April 20, 2022, just before 3:00 PM, El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to contact a person inside of a pickup truck with no license plate near Terminal Avenue and Conrad Street in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County.  The person inside drove the vehicle away and a brief pursuit began.  The vehicle struck a curb and came to a stop in a drainage ditch a short distance away.  The driver then fled on foot but was arrested nearby.

The driver was identified as Jacob Nail, DOB: 10-29-1996.  During his arrest he was found to have a baggie of Fentanyl pills in his mouth.  Jacob was later booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charges of Vehicular Eluding, Motor Vehicle Theft, Reckless Driving, Driving Under Restraint, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.  His booking mug shot is attached to this media release.
