The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Death of Two-Year-Old as An Accidental Drowning

On Saturday, March 17, 2018, at approximately 5:41 PM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 2-year-old named Nain Dominguez DOB: 09/24/15.  Nain was last seen near the Stratmoor Hill Trailhead Park, located at 1215 Forest Road.  El Paso County Deputies along with numerous other resources responded to the location to conduct search operations.  

An Amber Alert was initiated on a white panel van with no windows to alert the public about a possible vehicle of interest.  Once investigators determined the vehicle was no longer of interest in this case, the Amber Alert was cancelled. 

On Sunday, March 18, 2018, at approximately 7:18 am, Nain Dominguez was located and transported to a local hospital in life threatening condition.  He was later pronounced dead despite medical intervention. 

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating this case as an accidental drowning.  Details regarding this case will not be available immediately based on the fact that this is an ongoing investigation.  Information will be released as the investigations allows.
