Suspicious Death Upgraded to Homicide

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at approximately 11:02 PM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from the 6400 block of Tranters Creek Way saying multiple shots were fired and a male party was lying on the sidewalk.

Multiple units responded and discovered the male party unconscious and not breathing.  Deputies started life saving efforts until medical personnel arrived. Once on scene, medical attempted to revive the victim however, they were unsuccessful, and the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives arrived on scene and through the course of their investigation and processing the scene, the suspicious death has been upgraded to a homicide investigation. 

The identity of the victim will not be released until positive identification has been made by the Coroner's Office and the next of kin has been notified.
