Suspect in Officer Involved Shooting on Mark Dabling Boulevard Taken into Custody

On August 5, 2020, at approximately 11:40 PM, Colorado Springs Police Department officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Mark Dabling Boulevard at Pikeview Reservoir on reports of a man firing his weapon.

Three officers arrived on scene and attempted to contact the suspect when he began firing at the officers. The officers returned fire, each firing at least one round from their weapon. The suspect fled the scene. 

On August 6, 2020, the suspect was taken into custody and has been identified as Christopher Jerome WIlson, DOB: 1/4/72.  Once he is medically cleared, he will be booked into the El Paso County Jail on following charges:

Attempted First Degree Murder of a Peace Office - three counts
Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender
Illegal Discharge of a Firearm
Prohibited Use of a Weapon
Reckless Endangerment

A mug shot will be sent out once it becomes available.

In accordance with Colorado Revised Statute 16-2.5-301, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office is the lead investigative agency for this officer-involved shooting and all information will come from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office as the investigation allows. 

Information regarding the law enforcement officers involved in this incident will come from the Colorado Springs Police Department.
