On January 17, 2018, at approximately 3:00 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responding to a call in the 1600 block of Hampton South, regarding a stabbing in progress. When deputies arrived on scene they located the victim who was lying on the ground and he had been stabbed.

The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Through the course of the investigation deputies located the suspect nearby along with two witnesses.   After interviews were conducted the witnesses were released and the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as Tatyana King, DOB 6/13/1995.  She has been booked into the Criminal Justice Center Jail on the charge of First Degree Murder and additional charges may be forthcoming

Identification of the victim will be released once the autopsy is complete and the next of kin have been notified.

This is the first homicide in Unincorporated El Paso County for 2018.
