Suspect in Attempted Murder Case Taken into Custody

On May 1, 2019, 8:14 PM, deputies responded to 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue in reference to reports of shots fired.  According to witnesses on scene the suspect fired approximately 5-6 shots at the victim while he was sitting in his vehicle.

The suspect fled on foot towards Midland Trail and was seen entering the lobby of the Travel Lodge Motel located in the 2600 block of Ore Mill Road.  Containment was set up and deputies searched the motel yielding negative results.

Detectives took over the scene and through the course of the investigation the suspect was identified as Bradford Coleman and an arrest warrant was obtained.

On May 8, 2019, with the help of the Metro Fugitive Unit, Bradford Coleman, DOB: 1/11/94, was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Menacing and Reckless Endangerment.
