On September 17, 2021, at approximately 2:47 AM, Colorado Springs Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call of a shooting that occurred in the 7100 block of Omaha Boulevard, which is located in Unincorporated El Paso County. 

Deputies arrived on scene and located a female outside of her residence. Deputies also located a male outside of a separate residence with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Medical aid was rendered immediately and he was transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.    
 
After the preliminary investigation, the suspect has been identified, Xochilt Brown, DOB: 12/23/1986. Xochilt Brown has been booked into the El Paso County Jail with the following charges: 
Second Degree Attempted Murder (Domestic Violence), First Degree Assault, and Child Abuse/Reckless.
