On September 5, 2017, at approximately 2:00 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 3900 block of Shining Star Drive in reference to a shooting.  When deputies arrived on scene, they found a deceased male.

The victim has been identified as Jack Andrew Cole, DOB: 09/19/75.  The manner of death has been ruled a homicide by the El Paso County Coroner's Office.  The cause of death is gunshot wound. 

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Cole.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, which is ongoing at this time.  We do not believe there is any threat to the community.
