Apr 30, 2020 - 7:17am

On April 29, 2020, the Rural Enforcement and Outreach unit, Tactical Support Unit, and Metro Vice Narcotics Intelligence (MVNI) Division executed simultaneous search warrants in the 20000 block of Sahara Drive and 15000 block of Wagon Trail.

During the execution, an illegal marijuana cultivation operation was discovered as well as evidence linking these two operations to a third operation at 33000 East Highway 24. A third search warrant which was executed and another large illegal grow was located.

A total of 703 plants (in various stages of growth valued at $703,000), over $28,000 in cash, and five firearms were recovered.

These warrants mark one of the largest illegal marijuana cultivation operations and seizures to date for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff’s Office will continue its efforts to aggressively go after those who are involved in the black-market marijuana and illegal marijuana grow business.

We would like to thank our partners with MVNI which consists of officers and deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Colorado Springs Police Department and Fountain Police Department for all their support and collaboration.
