Sheriff's Office Looking for Robbery Suspect

Sep 9, 2015 - 8:40am

On September 7, 2015, at approximately 9:00 PM hours, Deputies were dispatched to the Conoco Gas Station, located at 1949 Woodmoor Drive, in reference to a Robbery.  Units from Monument Police and Palmer Lake Police also responded.

The victim was outside of the building smoking and looking at his phone.  A black male approached him and held a knife to the victims neck.  The victim stated he could not fully understand everything the suspect told him.  The suspect followed the victim into the business through the propped open door.  The victim opened the register and began placing cash on the counter.  The suspect took handfuls of cash and exited the building.  The victim then activated the hold up alarm and called 911.  Store managers estimate approximately $348 was stolen.

The suspect is described as a medium complexion black male in his 20s, approximately six foot tall, wearing black clothing, a black flat billed baseball cap and a bandanna around his face.  The knife appeared to be a large kitchen carving knife.  No suspect vehicle information was available.

The photo from the video surveillance camera is attached to this Media Release.  If anyone has any information as to the identity of this individual, please contact Detective James Vidmar at 719-390-5555.
