On January 14, 2021, at approximately 4:26 PM, Palmer Lake Police Department Officers and our deputies responded to a Shooting that occurred in the 700 block of Highway 105.

Upon arrival, officers and deputies found an adult female deceased from a gunshot wound.

Through a mutual agreement between the Sheriff's Office and Palmer Lake Police Department, the Sheriff's Office will be the lead investigative agency in this case.

Detectives were on scene for hours collecting evidence and taking witness statements.  Multiple agencies assisted in searching for the suspect who is still at large.

We are looking for Jose Alfredo Romero, DOB 4/29/85, also known as Jose Romero-Romero. A photo of Romero and his vehicle are attached to this media release.

Jose Romero is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If seen contact law enforcement immediately.
