Sheriff's Office Goes Live with New Records Management System

October 10, 2017

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce we have gone live with a new Law Enforcement Records Management System (LERMS) at 6:00 AM this morning.

This has been a long, complex project involving three law enforcement agencies, two Information Technology departments and the vendor, in addition to converting data from two different criminal justice systems.

This new system will provide for a significant upgrade to our Information Technology infrastructure, as well as the Mobile Data Computers (MDC's) the deputies use in their vehicles.

This conversion will serve as a major breakthrough in information sharing between the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Fountain Police Department.  It also vastly improves our crime analysis capabilities which will provide a more complete picture of crime trends within El Paso County.

This is a shining example of interagency cooperation and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the the Colorado Springs Police Department, the City of Colorado Springs Information Technology department, the El Paso County Information Technology department and the Fountain Police Department.
