On January 10, 2023, just after 10:30am, a 911 caller reported someone was assaulted, injured, and severely bleeding at a home in the 600 block of Bickley Street in the Security/Widefield area of unincorporated El Paso County.  The caller also reported the suspect, an adult male, was the victim’s son.
 
When deputies arrived, they discovered an adult female with severe injuries.  She was transported to a local hospital where she continues to receive treatment at this time.  She is currently in critical condition.
 
Deputies detained the suspect on scene without incident and identified him as Quinten Abeyta, DOB: 11-25-1977.  Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division detectives arrived and took over the investigation.
 
As a result of their efforts, probable cause was established to criminally charge Abeyta with Attempted First Degree Murder.  He was arrested and later booked into the El Paso County Jail on this charge where he remains as of the writing of this media release.  Detectives requested, and were granted by a judge, an enhanced $300,000 bond.  Abeyta’s booking photo is attached to this media release.
