Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest In Child Abduction Incident; Child Returned Unharmed

Jun 22, 2022 - 9:50am

On June 21, 2022, just before 7:00AM, EPSO Deputies responded to a home in the 2000 block of Mount Herman Road in unincorporated El Paso County after residents there reported a non-custodial parent of a child who was in their care forced her way into the home, menaced them and abducted the child at gunpoint, and fled with the child.  The non-custodial parent and suspect was identified as Amber Green, DOB: 3-2-1984.

Information was obtained on possible locations for Amber near Blackhawk, Colorado and Englewood, Colorado, and law enforcement agencies in those areas began assisting in searching for Amber and the child.  It was not believed the child was in imminent danger of harm from Amber.

At around 3:30PM, Amber met with the child’s father and custodial parent at a business parking lot in Monument and returned the child unharmed.  The Sheriff’s Office Tactical Support Group then arrested Amber without incident.  She was still in possession of the handgun used in the abduction.

Amber was later booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $10,000 bond for the Felony charges of First Degree Burglary, Felony Menacing, and Violation of a Custody Order.  Her mug shot is attached to this release.
