Sheriff’s Office Looking for Vehicular Eluding Suspect

Oct 20, 2017 - 6:15am

On October 20, 2017, at approximately 12:38 am, deputies were on a patrol check in the Fox Run Regional Park, located at 2110 Stella Dr.  Deputies attempted to contact a male and female in a blue Ford Explorer who were in the park after hours. As the deputies approached in their patrol vehicles, the driver of the Ford Explorer accelerated in the direction of the deputies.  The deputies turned on their emergency lights, but the driver continued to drive toward the deputies and steer towards their vehicles. The deputies had to veer off the road way to avoid being struck by the driver.

The deputies continued to follow the vehicle until they lost sight of it near Mt. Herman Road and Nursery Road.  The vehicle was located a short time later in the area of Schilling Avenue and Lindbergh Road.  The vehicle was abandoned and the suspects had fled on foot into the surrounding terrain. A search was conducted but the suspects were not located.

At approximately 3:12 am, the female passenger contacted the Sheriff’s Office and was able to make contact with deputies on scene.  The female is not considered a suspect.   The male, later identified as Branden Crum DOB 12/20/97 has not been located and is considered a suspect for vehicular eluding.

A previous booking photo of Mr. Crum is attached to this Media Release.  If anyone has information as to his whereabouts, we ask that you contact the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 719-390-5555.
