Sheriff’s Office Honors 10-Year-Old with 911 Hero Award
On Monday, October 30, 2017, at 8:00 am, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will present a 911 Hero Award to 10-year-old Tavarus Thompson. The presentation will be held at Explorer Elementary School, located at 4190 Bardot Drive.
On the morning of July 20, 2017, Tavarus called 911 for his mother who was experiencing a medical emergency. Tavarus did an outstanding job of describing the situation to Dispatcher Kimberly Abriam. He remained calm while answering questions and following instructions until medical help arrived on scene.
We are so proud of Tavarus for his quick thinking and calm demeanor during a stressful situation. We would like to encourage all to attend and help us recognize him for his actions.
