Sheriff’s Office Announces Graduation Ceremony for 18-2 Detentions Academy

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the graduation ceremony for 20 deputies who have successfully completed the 18-2 Detentions Academy.  The graduation ceremony will be held Friday, February 8, 2019, 3:00 PM, at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4040 Nonchalant Circle South.

The deputies completed a 368-hour Detentions Academy that was developed to prepare and equip them with the knowledge and tools to work in a jail environment.  This was accomplished through a comprehensive detention specific training program that included 200 hours of academic training, 80 hours of arrest control and 88 hours of firearms training.  Academy Instructors used modern training methods, technology, equipment and sites during their instruction.

We encourage all to attend and help us celebrate the graduation of these 20 new detention deputies.
