Remains Recovered in El Paso County Identified as Missing Hiker Kevin Rudnicki

On December 12, 2018, at approximately 9:42 am, deputies were dispatched to a remote area near Balanced Rock Road and Forest Service Road 322, in reference to a suspicious incident.   Upon arriving on scene, deputies located skeletal remains.

The Coroner has identified the remains as 20-year-old missing hiker Kevin Rudnicki.  The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Coroner’s Office once they have received all the information to make a ruling. 

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Rudnicki.
