On July 24, 2021, at approximately 6:49 AM, our Communications Center dispatched deputies to the Stratmoor Valley Park and Trailhead, on a report of a body found.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies discovered a deceased adult male.

The male has been identified as Shawn Deckert, 45 years-old. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Mr. Deckert.

The cause and manner of death will be released by the El Paso County Coroner's Office. This is an active investigation; additional information will be provided as the investigation allows.
