Law Enforcement Seizes Marijuana Plants Discovered During Carson Midway Fire

On Saturday, March 17, 2018, as fire personnel were working the Carson Midway Fire, they discovered a marijuana cultivation operation in the 7900 block of Alaya Way.  A search warrant was obtained by law enforcement.

At approximately 6:00 PM, members of Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence (VNI) and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Rural Enforcement Outreach Unit (REO) executed the search warrant.

During the search of the property, approximately over 100 illegal marijuana plants were seized.  Most of the pants were in the flowering stage ready for harvest.  No arrests were made.  The investigation is open and ongoing.
