El Paso County Sheriff's Office Looking for Domestic Violence Suspect - Possibly Armed and Dangerous

Mar 4, 2017 - 10:30am

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, at approximately 12:26 PM, Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Domestic Violence call in the 4000 block of Witches Hollow Lane in the Security Area.   Upon arrival, deputies learned that the female had exited the residence safely.  The male party at that time was believed to have barricaded himself inside.

Containment was set up immediately.  The Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Unit were called out and responded to the scene along with the Regional Bomb Squad.  A reverse 911 notification was sent out to neighbors surrounding the residence as a precaution advising them of law enforcement presence in their area and asking them to stay inside their homes.

After repeated commands for the male party to exit the residence, entry was made by SWAT.  A thorough search of the residence revealed that the male party was no longer on scene.

The suspect has been identified as Richard Anthony Otero Jr.  DOB: 03/01/87.  He is wanted on a previous felony arrest warrant as well as new charges related to this domestic violence incident.

The suspects associated vehicle is a 1999 Maroon Chrysler 300 bearing license plate DQY027.

A photo of Mr. Otero is attached to this Media Release.  He is considered possibly armed and dangerous.  If anyone has information as to his whereabouts, please do not approach him and contact the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 719-390-5555
