On May 25, 2023, Daniel Garcia, a Deputy Sheriff with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office was arrested by the Colorado Springs Police Department and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

He is charged with Menacing and First Degree Official Misconduct.

Garcia has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since September 9, 2013, and is assigned to the Detention Operations Division. He has been placed on Administrative Leave in accordance with policy.
