On April 13, 2023, at about 12:52 a.m., a 911 call was received regarding a carjacking in the 1000 block of Palacio View in Colorado Springs. The reporting party’s mother was said to be held at gunpoint and the suspects took her vehicle. There were two suspects and at least one with a handgun. The vehicle was described as a silver Hyundai Kona. Officers responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.

At 2:36 a.m., officers located a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle at Astrozon Boulevard and South Academy Boulevard. A pursuit was initiated. A Tactical Vehicle Intervention was authorized and was initiated causing the vehicle to crash at Circle Drive and Bijou Street. Officers immediately rendered aid to the occupants of the vehicle. One of the suspects was deceased at the scene; the other was transported to a nearby hospital. Both suspects are adult males. Detectives from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. 

The suspect has been identified as D’Angelo Flynn (DOB 11/1/2004). He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Vehicular Eluding. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Identification of the deceased male will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner's Office.
