On 08/09/20 at 3:55 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of Mohican Drive regarding a call of a Domestic Violence in progress.

Deputies arrived on scene and the suspect refused to speak with deputies and indicated to his family if they entered his home, he would shoot at them. He also made numerous suicidal statements and said he would kill himself if anybody came in his house.

The Tactical Support Unit and Crisis Negotiators arrived on scene and negotiations continued for almost seven hours. At approximately 10:40 PM, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as Robert Sanford, DOB 07/28/84. He has been booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charges of:

Robbery

3rd Degree Assault

2nd Degree Criminal Tampering

Harassment
