Apr 27, 2018 - 10:00am

On Friday, April 27, 2018, members of the Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence (VNI) obtained a search warrant for an address in the 16,000 block of Jones Road.  The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Rural Enforcement Outreach Unit and SWAT team executed the search warrant.  During a search of the property, 13 pounds of processed marijuana and an excess of 500 marijuana plants were seized in various stages of growth.  The Black-Market street value for today’s seizure is a little over $425,000 dollars.

Antonio Lazaro Subit Marrero, DOB: 03/16/83 and Armando Javier Vega, DOB: 06/24/75 were arrested and will be booked into the Criminal Justice Center Jail on charges of Offenses Relating to Marijuana. Mug shots of Moreno and Vega will be released once the booking process is complete.

The enforcement efforts of Metro VNI in conjunction with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for April 1 – April 27, 2018 are:
• 10 Search Warrants
• 300 pounds of processed marijuana plants seized
• 1000 plants seized

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office continues its efforts to aggressively go after those who are involved in the marijuana Black-Market and illegal marijuana grows.

We would like to thank our partners with Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence (VNI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for their continued support and collaboration.
