Arrest Warrants Issued in Animal Cruelty Case
On March 10, 2019 at approximately 2:30 PM, a deputy from the Rural Enforcement Outreach Team was contacted by multiple parties in reference to an animal neglect complaint in the 3200 block of Slocum Road and a search warrant was obtained for the property.
On March 11, 2019, deputies with the Rural Enforcement Outreach Unit, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region and the Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center executed the search warrant. The owner of the horses was contacted, and 10 horses were located in various stages of emaciation. There were also two deceased horses inside of stalls in a large barn.
All living horses were seized and were transported to an approved boarding facility.
As a result of this investigation two arrest warrants have been issued for Brian Holloway, DOB: 3/24/66. He is facing two counts of Felony Cruelty to Animals and 10 counts of Misdemeanor Cruelty to Animals.
A mug shot of Holloway will be released once it becomes available.
We would like to express our appreciation to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region and the Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center for their assistance with this case.
