Sheriff's Office Investigates Shots Fired Into A Home

Nov 8, 2021 - 7:54am

On November 7, 2021, just after 7:00 PM, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a 911 call from a person reporting multiple gun shots heard in or around the 600 block of Widick Street, which is a dense residential neighborhood in unincorporated El Paso County.

Responding deputies discovered a home in that area struck at least six times from gunfire.  One of these rounds punctured the home's exterior and came very close to striking an occupant.  Thankfully no one was injured.  Shell casings were collected from the scene.  Several home video surveillance cameras in the area captured multiple suspects who fled on foot.

Investigative assistance was requested from an EPSO deputy serving as an ATF Task Force Officer assigned to the Armed Violent Offender Unit.  The El Paso County Sheriff's Office remains committed to arresting violent criminals through collaboration with our regional law enforcement partners in order to maintain peace in our community.

This is an active investigation as we work to identify these suspects.  If you have any information regarding this incident please call the EPSO's Patrol Tip Line at 719-520-7777.
