Sheriff’s Office Communications Center Receives Emergency Medical Dispatch Accreditation

Jul 25, 2022 - 1:11pm

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) Communications Center has been re-accredited as the world's 29th Medical Accredited Center of Excellence. Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) promotes organizational excellence in public safety communications by encouraging committed agencies to complete "20 points of Accreditation," a rigorous and measurable set of globally recognized practices. This is the 8th accreditation for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office since 1999 and we are one of only 13 agencies in the world achieving this milestone.

The Communications Center dispatches for eight law enforcement agencies and 22 fire departments. In 2021, they processed over 300,000 telephone calls and 280,000 calls for service.

Sheriff Bill Elder said, “I could not be prouder of the members of our Communications Center who work so diligently each day to provide Police, Fire and Medical assistance to those in our community. This accreditation stands as a testament to our community, that everyone in our Office is truly here to serve. Their commitment to their profession and to the citizens of El Paso County is unparalleled. Congratulations on achieving this distinguished accomplishment.”
