On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 5:13 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding a disturbance at the 5100 block of Lanagan Street in Colorado Springs.  Responding officers encountered an armed suspect and shots were fired.  The suspect, identified as Dana Bruce Ott, sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.   

On January 8, 2016, at 2:42 AM, Mr. Ott succumbed to injuries related to the gunshot wound sustained on November 10, 2015 as a result of the armed confrontation with police.

An autopsy is pending.
