On August 23, 2018, at approximately 8:50 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 6800 block of Woodstock Street regarding a shooting.  The reporting party stated her boyfriend shot another male party.

It is believed the couple had returned to a vehicle which ran out of fuel in the area of Fontaine Boulevard and Powers Boulevard. Upon their arrival, the victim came upon them and an argument ensued.  The couple then left the scene and drove to their residence with the victim following them.

The suspect walked directly into the residence and the reporting party told the victim to leave.  The suspect pointed a rifle out of the upstairs bedroom window and fired the weapon.

The suspect has been identified as Miles Caughey DOB: 8/11/82. He is facing charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender.  The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in critical but stable condition.
