Staff Counselor Sharon Trivette

Dr. Sharon Trivette began working at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in 2009. Her duties include responding to critical incidents for all Bureaus (Law Enforcement, Detentions and Support Services), counseling services as needed, and teaching for In­-Service and Recruit Academy classes. Additionally, Dr. Trivette contributes to preventative care for all members of the Office, and serves on the Crisis Negotiations Unit.

Prior to joining the Office, Dr. Trivette served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Dean of Students at the Colorado School of Professional Psychology. Previous to this, she was the Interim Dean of Student Services at Front Range Community College. She has been in private practice, as well as having experience in the mental health field in various capacities.

She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Rockies, a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Additionally, Dr. Trivette holds many specialty trainings and certifications.  Dr. Trivette is licensed in the State of Colorado as a Professional Counselor.
