Sheriff's Office Looking for Suspect in Vehicular Eluding Case - Considered Dangerous

Sep 11, 2016 - 9:20pm

On Monday, September 12, 2016, at approximately 10:35 AM, a Deputy encountered a white Mitsubishi Montero which ran a red light and was driving at an excessive rate of speed.  The Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop and a pursuit ensued until the Deputy lost a visual of the vehicle.  The pursuit was then terminated.

A short time later the vehicle crashed into a rock on the property of Arbor Point Apartments, located on the 2300 block of Hancock Expressway.  The suspect then fled on foot and is still at large.

The suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic male and was last seen wearing jeans, a grey sweatshirt and red Converse sneakers.  He was last seen in the Delta/Hancock area and we are asking residents in this area to be vigilant.

The Sheriff's Office is working with the Colorado Springs Police Department, the Colorado Springs Police Department K-9 Unit and the Colorado State Patrol to locate this suspect.  He is considered dangerous, so if you should encounter anyone matching this description, please call 911 immediately.
